The library is one of the most influential public cultural spaces in a city. In recent years, the international library community has attached great importance to the value of space in its reader service and transformation development, and has conducted a lot of research and practice on library space reconstruction.
The 10th Shanghai International Library Forum specially organizes the "Development of New Generation Libraries" session, inviting experts from home and abroad to talk about the new concept and development practice of library space design and renovation. The guest speakers include experts from IFLA Library Buildings and Equipment Section, as well as library directors from Norway, Denmark and Macau in China, internationally renowned library architecture designers, and professionals with extensive management experience in library space facilities.
You will appreciate the "Nordic phenomenon" in which the innovation of library space design drives the upgrading of service forms, and perceive the new highlights of the new generation library building design, and the new trends of library architecture and space planning in many countries
With nearly two decades of hard work, the Shanghai International Library Forum has developed into an international professional and academic forum that has attracted the attention of library communities at home and abroad, and has a far-reaching impact. It has provided a platform of cross-border communication for the development of librarianship in Shanghai and in China.
The 10th Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF2020) will be held on October 14-16, 2020 at the Shanghai Library. The theme of the forum is "Building Libraries for a New Age: Persistence, Transformation and Revolution". The forum will conduct extensive discussions on such topics as library services and management innovation, new generation of library buildings and etc.
1. Forum Agenda
The forum has opening and closing ceremonies, keynote speeches, seminars, dialogues between speakers and etc. The agenda is as follows:

- Afternoon, 15 October: Seminar on "Library Services and Management Innovation"

2. Guest speakers
The forum has invited more than 20 experts and scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Australia and other countries for academic discussions.
Gerald Leitner, Secretary-General of IFLA, Rao Quan, Director of the National Library of China, Li Donglai, Director of the Dongguan Library, Guangdong, and Liu Wei, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Library, will give keynote speeches, discussing ideas on such hot topic as the smart transformation of libraries, future library development and etc.

The forum is organized by the Shanghai Library (Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai), and co-organized by Shanghai Library Base for Cultural and Tourism Research, Shanghai Library Society, Shanghai Science and Technology Information Society. Library Journal and Academic Research Committee of the Library Society of China provide academic support. The forum has received special support from the Shanghai Branch of the Tongfang Knowledge Network (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Wanfang Data Co., Ltd.
4. How to participate
This forum combines online and offline seminars and dialogues, web conferences and multi-platform live broadcasts. It uses "cloud participation" and is broadcast live on CNKI and Gensee platform without charging any participation fee.

The theme of the 10th Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF2020) is "Building Libraries for a New Age: Perseverance, Transformation and Disruption". The conference will focus on hot issues and topics, the latest research achievements, innovative ideas, advanced technology and the latest developments related to the theme, and conduct in-depth and extensive academic discussions. Well-known experts and scholars will be invited to present keynote speeches and specific reports. To ensure the academic quality of this forum and attract more paper submissions, scholars of library and information science, managers of libraries and information agencies, and professionals from all fields at home and abroad are invited to submit papers and attend the conference.
In view of the epidemic situation of COVID-19 at home and abroad, the forum's organizing committee has determined that the deadline for submission of papers for this forum will be extended to June 30, 2020. At the same time, in order to reflect the practical thinking of library management and services in the context of epidemic fighting, a special topic regarding library emergency management and service mechanisms is added.

2. The paper contains 5,000 words or less, including an abstract of 300 words or less in English or Chinese. Please indicate the topic of your paper.
3. The paper should be arranged in the following order: title, author’s organization and name, author’s mailing address and zip code, abstract, keywords, text and references.

4. Submission method: Submit papers through the "Library Journal" submission platform to enter the "authors online submission". Email submission is not accepted.
