Barbara LISON

Barbara LISON is an educated librarian with university degrees in Slavonic studies, history and educational theory. She is an expert on any aspect of the management of libraries, especially innovation, HRM, customer orientation and change management.
For almost 30 years Barbara has been working as Director of the Public Library system of Bremen, one of the largest public library systems in Germany.
Besides her duties in Bremen library Barbara has been actively advocating for libraries on national and international levels. She had several offices in different library related associations, having served as President of the German Library Association, and President of Bibliothek Information Deutschland, the national umbrella organisation of German library and information associations.
She has also held leadership positions in the European Bureau for Libraries, Archives and Documentation Associations (EBLIDA), including Executive Committee member and Vice-President.
She has been a member of IFLA´s Governing Board, held the position of Treasurer and IFLA President-elect. Her term as IFLA President is from August 2021 to August 2023.


CHEN Chao
(China)

He is Director and a research fellow of the Shanghai Library (Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai), and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the China Society for Library Science, a board member of the National Library of China, President of the Shanghai Library Association, a graduate student advisor of the Fudan University and the China Institute of Science and Technology Information, and a Ph.D student advisor of the Shanghai University. He has been engaged in the research and management of LIS for a long time, focusing on strategic information research in frontier science and technology, emerging industries, urban culture and other fields, as well as library marketing and strategic management research.
In recent years, he has presided over and completed a number of Shanghai decision-making consulting and soft science research projects. Since 2012, he has been responsible for the construction of "Shanghai Advanced Technology Development Research Center", one of the first four soft science research bases in Shanghai. In 2016, he won the title of Excellent Expert of the Ministry of Culture. Since 2020, as a chief expert, he has presided over the construction of the think tank of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai, a key think tank of Shanghai. In 2021, he was named as a famous cultural expert and one of the "Four-Groups" talents by the Publicity Department of CCP Central Committee .
